Jean Samuel Bez

Jean Samuel Bez

Devoted mainly to chamber music, violinist Jean Samuel Bez gives over 100 concerts a year around the world (Europe, North America, China...).

Since 2016, he has been a member of the "Trio Spilliaert", with whom he records the complete trios of Désiré Pâque, released by "Cyprès" in autumn 2021. He also forms a duo with guitarist Raphaël Béreau, and is pursuing a Franco-Canadian project around the "Fantaisies pour violon" with pianist Jean-Luc Therrien. He also collaborates with Icelandic band Arstiđir in a completely different register. Their album Nivalis (2018) won Best Alternative Rock/Indie Album at the Independent Music Awards. Winner of numerous international prizes and competitions, including 1st Prize at the "Luigi Concours International Zanuccoli" (Italy, 2017), Jury Prize at the "Malta International Music Concours" (2015), "Hansez-Castilhon" and "Horlait-Dapsens" Prizes in Brussels (2016) and 1st Prize at the "Svirel International Music Competition" (Slovenia, 2017), he studies with Véronique Bogaerts (Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles) and Michael Frischenschlager (Universität für Musik Vienna). He has appeared as soloist with the Ensemble Orchestral de Dijon (France), the Orchestre Universitaire de Bourgogne, the Budweis Philharmonic (Czech Republic) and the Sotiropoulos Camerata of Brussels, performing concertos by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Wieniawski, among others. Sensitive to the importance of creating and promoting contemporary repertoire, Jean Samuel puts his heart and soul into working with composers. He focuses on the search for new alternative formulas, as opposed to traditional concerts, mixing arts and means of expression
